Overwhelmed about time management?
It is one of the primary reasons we get don’t get tasks completed is because we don’t start or continue. There are so many new things to learn and to apply it is just too much. I have used this chart in my practice and have seen results. Using the Time Wheel chart below it will help you see where you need to fill in the blanks on a daily basis.
Just take one step at a time. When learning a new skill, have you said any of these to yourself?
I will never get it.
I am too dumb.
I will never learn this stuff
But one day pieces start falling into place. Then more and more pieces begin to fit and we start to get a feeling of how it fits together!
Seeing a visual picture of how you spend your time can assist you in evaluating how to be more effective. This Time Wheel is one of the ways that will take you there. As a network marketer and home based business owner time is our most valuable commodity. We have control over our time, so use this exercise to overcome distractions, resistance and fears. I know sometimes we do not feel prepared to answer questions or are just physically tired, but just try one small step.
How do I get control over my time?
Time is money and analyzing the categories that make up your time is a priority. If something is not a priority or its value is not elevated, and we do not take the necessary action, it’s like leaving money on the table.
Getting things done, like creating content on a blog or website can take time, but once it is published it will benefit you forever. Putting in the time and effort will pay off – not always as soon as we would like – but it will pay off.
Use this Time Wheel as an experiment for 2 weeks and review what you have accomplished. The categories are examples of how most people may be using their time.
Directions: Go to each section of the wheel and rate yourself on a scale of 1-10. Pick a number that you feel communicates how much time you spend in each activity. The outside of the wheel is “10 (ten)” being the best, closest to the center of the pie is “O (zero)” being the weakest. Place a dot on each section and when you have completed the circle connect the dots.
As a result the final wheel will give you visual of how you spend your time and show the places where you can manage your time more effectively. Try it again and notice how you feel more in control of your life.
